Wind Turbines and Dimensional Analysis?
Do the dimensionless constants for a centrifugal pump apply to a conventional wind turbine as well. That is without modifying any of them in any way.(I believe both are rotodynamic machines, so in my mind it should). If it did though, what would happen to the Head parameter. I know that turbines are classed as […]

If gas prices nationwide go up because of the BP oil spill, why is BP the only oil company responsible?
Doesn’t it stand to reason that if one company makes a mistake it should bear the consequences? Since its BP’s crude floating away, shouldn’t only BP prices be affected? Why does it affect Shell, Marathon, and all the other corporations? If they raise their prices shouldn’t they help clean that crap up too?

This physics question confuses me. Can someone explain and show how to get the answer. The steps I mean..?
NASA has developed Deep-Space 1 (DS-1), a spacecraft that is scheduled to rendezvous with the asteroid named 1992 KD (which orbits the sun millions of miles from the earth). The propulsion system of DS-1 works by ejecting high-speed argon ions out the rear of the engine. The engine slowly increases the velocity of DS-1 by […]
