  1. you could buy the type of lights that are motion sensored to put in your rooms. unplug electronics when they are not in use because i heard they consume more electricity when they are off. dont leave anything on while you are away. buy products that have the energy star logo on them, such as lights. keep your thermostat at 70 degrees.

sorry its not 5 i heard them in the media somewhere.

  2. Turn your thermostat down in the winter and wear a warm sweater, use fans vs. air conditioning if possible, use the efficient light bulbs, turn off lights & your computer, don’t run the tv if your not watching, don’t run the stereo if your not listening, take a cool shower or bath in the heat, set your thermostat so the air cond. or heat will not run if you are not home, unplug your electronics while out of town, recycle whenever possible.

  3. Use CFL bulbs
Turn off computers, t.v’s, lights, etc when you are not using them.
    Use energy efficent appliances
Hang clothes to dry and only use dryer to “fluff” them
Try not to open the stove when baking, use a BBQ for cooking, (you can cook everything on it and it tastes better!)
Always use the cold water setting when washing your clothing

  4. This site has some products that can help you out
Energy efficient Bulbs, but also weatherization stuff to help keep your heating/AC costs down and save energy that way

    http://www.amconservationgroup.com
they have a customer service number also 1-800-777-5655

    Hope this helps!

  5. dry clothes on a line instead of dryer
when cooking a meal do it all at the same time and if the oven is heated up try some baking afterwards
install motion activated outside lights for security instead of leaving on all night
use solar lights for exterior garden decor
when leaving a room for a long time turn off lights
when done with the computer or any electrical device turn it off

  6. there are so many things you can do to help. things that you probably didn’t even realized helped.
    1. unplug your phone charger when you aren’t actually charging your phone.
    2. energy efficient light bulbs. they are a little more expensive, but they help you save in the long run.
    3. walk or ride a bike whenever it’s possible. and it is so much healthier.
    4. reuse anything that you can. containers that you buy with food in them can be reused for new food, or storage.
    5. spread the word. so many people are misinformed. help them understand.

can u plz tell me atleast 5 or more ways of conserving electricity on my own, like in my own house????
