Are electric vehicles (EVs) considered hybrid vehicles?
I’m doing a paper on hybrid vehicles and I want to include EV’s, but I’m not sure if they are technically considered hybrid vehicles since they only use one distinct power source to move the vehicle. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Will living next to a 40 MW combined heat and power plant have any health effects on me?
The plant features a combustion turbine, heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), a steam turbine generator, and two auxiliary boilers. Is it possible for radiation or anything to emit from the facility?
what is the cost of a solar system sufficient to run my meter backwards?
I am looking for the cost of an alternative solar power system which will allow my home to run independent of the power grid. What is the approximate ROI? Not looking to remove myself from the grid completely, but to be able to generate enough to have a total billing from the power company close […]
How will we travel to the stars in the future?
There are a lot of exotic theories floating around for future star travel: ion drive (slow, but reliable); solar sails; laser propulsion; nuclear fusion drives. None of these are phony “Star Trek” warp drives (doesn’t make ANY scientific sense–they’d be crushed to death!), but which one is the most feasible?

Energy & Natural Resources United States: Could “Green Energy” Replace Coal? John Adams once observed that “[f]acts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” Read more on Mondaq
fusion in fission reactor?
why doesn’t fusion reaction occur in reactors using heavy water as coolant? I do not mean chain reaction. Even a few instances. As for as I know, energy of the liberated neutrons is about 1 MeV, while fusion of deuteron requires about 5GeV. But if it is so, than how they create fusion in bombs. […]

What man made materials and structures are used to produce nuclear energy???
How much energy could be generated by adding solar panels to the Alaskan Pipeline?
Using low-end, i.e. cheap, solar panels, based on existing technology, how much energy can be generated by adding solar panels to the total length of the Alaskan Pipeline? And if possible, how does that compare with the energy of the oil being pumped through the pipe. Not sure what the light cycle is along the […]
Is nuclear energy a reasonable alternative to fossil fuels?
Nuclear energy is clean. It has caused 0 deaths in the United States. It outputs 2.7 million times more energy than coal. All we have to figure out is what to do with the waste. What’s your opinion on nuclear energy?

How does a simple cell work and is it actually a galvanic cell or a electrolytic cell?
There are 2 different electrodes, right? One’s an anode and one’s a cathode. And apparently, a negative electrode is called an anode. Since it’s negative, shouldn’t it attract *positive ions* so reduction will take place? Why does oxidation take place instead?
How do I conserve electricity on 20 computers?
is there a way? like plugging my computers into a car-battery and use an AC-DC converter? then the battery will be re-charged using an AC-DC converter?
is the electricity generated from wind turbines dependent on wind speed and swept area alone?
or is it that the faster the rpm, the more the production. (of course this in itself is dependent on the above two criteria) what i need to know is whether a alternator produces same energy at 100 rpm and 300 rpm. also what are the factors that decide how much energy a alternator produces.

what motivates people to buy hybrid, or other electric, cars?
We’ve a raging debate if people are motivated by green issues, or looking for ways to save through good fuel mileage or if they are looking to save money overall.
