The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

What is the cleanest alternative fuel that has been discovered ?

I know each alternative fuel comes with a price (as does everything). The extracting of hydrogen is supposedly not environmentally friendly, this being one of the prices of its implementation. I am not an expert on the subject though. Does anyone know what the cleanest alternative fuel available or that has been found is ? […]

Yissum develops potato-powered batteries for the developing world

Yissum develops potato-powered batteries for the developing world Researchers in Jerusalem have just announced they’ve developed super simple, sustainable, organic electric batteries which are powered by treated potatoes . Their findings have just been published in the Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, and detail uses of the batteries in the developing world where infrastructure […]

Oxyhydrogen Explosion #3

The third Oxyhydrogen explosion we made. This time the gas ignited too early, as you can see. The gas was in a bag of about 0,5 Liters with approximately 50% oxyhydrogen. The oxyhydrogen was generated by a Smack’s Booster. Do not try this at home, this is extremely risky and you can get seriously injured […]

More on electrochemical cells (2)

Chemistry: Electrochemistry and electrochemical cells. Anode vs. cathode; oxidation vs. reduction; reduction potentials, oxidation potentials, and cell potentials; electron flow; positive and negative electrodes for galvanic vs. electrolytic cells This is a recording of a tutoring session, posted with the students’ permission. These videos are offered on a “pay-what-you-like” basis. You can pay for the […]

How pratical are hydrogen fuel cell vechicles?

If a majority of our automobiles were replaced with vehicles which operate on hydrogen powered fuel cells, how could massive amounts of hydrogen be stored safely for refueling? How safe are these cars when the fuel tank ruptures due to collision compared to current gasoline/diesel ones currently in use? How many miles will the vehicles […]

Melting some stuff with oxyhydrogen minitorch

I’m working on a small torch for art and jewellery. The flame is tiny, but extremely hot – 2800 degrees Celsius (5000 F). It easily melts (1600 C) and boils (2230 C) quartz, iron wire, and just about anything which you can get a hold of. I am using stoichiometric mix, so the temperature is […]

What are the drawbacks of Hydrogen Cars?

We’re looking everywhere for alternative fuels! Whats wrong with hydrogen??? We have plenty of it, its in water, that covers 2/3 OF THE GLOBE!!!! There are no emmisions either, so why aren’t we switching to it?
