I really think hydrogen fuel is # 1 for the consumer, but the reason I think it will never make it to market is because of politics. Think about it, if you had the vehicle and the contraption that made the gas, you would be completely energy independant. The gov couldn’t tax you on anything. They would sell you what you need and then they couldn’t make any money off you.. Goverment always wants to stay in your pocket so they can keep an eye on you. Comments?

The contraption that makes the gas is presently a huge plant. That is the problem so far, developing infrastructure to deliver the gas, and a way of separating the hydrogen that is not in itself energy intensive.
WOO PEE DOO

Somebody here sees the nasty bug at the picnic

Called MONEY bug YES you have got the fly swater in hand and what would the big MONEY eater do if its food source was cut back a little??

So now the big DUUU question is
When will some car manufactor come out with a car that will run on a gallon of water for the whole month of driveing hit the show room floors

Honda is the only one that is tip toeing on this thin ice of panic for the nasty OPEC people of the world

Could you see the add in the Sunday Paper
—- Buy a new car and spend no more money on fuel all
— you have to do is open the little rain collector cap to fill your tank the next rainy day you have —
… .. .. …
Now why hasn’t some Brain thought of this one because government would go into panic mode no more $0.30 a gallon tax being collected
.. .. ..
Get my idea
MONEY is the ROOT of all EVIL

Don’t think it is quite as simple as being able to tax it, for a start hydrogen is bl**dy dangerous stuff, has a tendency to go bang as in the Hindenburg airship, second it degenerates in the tank so if you don’t use it in a few days it doesn’t go bang any more and thirdly there is only just enough water to drink at the moment, how are we going to live if it is all being used up to extract the hydrogen to run the cars and power stations. Now i don’t like the governments of this world anymore than the next person but I don’t think this is all down to their greed for ever more taxes
As far as I know, currently hydrogen can only be mass produced efficiently by harvesting H atoms from long carbon chains (fossil fuels). Using electricity to separate H from water molecules will require new nuclear or coal fired power plants.
Hydrogen is not a viable option right now because there are many roadblocks in the way. For example, where to get the hydrogen from, how to transport and store it, how to make an affordable hydrogen car when fuel cells require platinum, etc. etc. See the link below for further details.
The technology just isn’t ready for prime time. Electric vehicles are a far superior option.
