I have a feeling that as alternative energy becomes a bigger deal, existing gasoline stations will be retrofitted with solar panels, capacitor and battery banks, natural gas tanks, and hydrogen fuels. This is a much more efficient alternative to building brand new fueling stations. What companies are prepared to do the retrofitting?

Sticking with the rules of Yahoo Answers, I am not going to name the company…. but my company does just that.
We build and maintain service stations.
Over the last decade we have had to venture into new areas to keep up with the changing times. We sell and service natural gas / LP fueling equipment. We have also gotten into the ethanol based fuel equipment industry. Many of your medium to large c-store chains are already exploiting and providing these two alternates.
We have just invested in the development of solar powered “charging stations” for the battery systems you find in hybrids and full electric cars. The auto industry is heading to a direction that these batteries will be removable and interchangeable, meaning that you will not have to stop your trip to recharge your batteries… just pull into a service station and exchange yours for a freshly charged battery.
In the late 90’s the development of hydrogen fuel powered autos really slowed down. There are many reasons that I have been told, but I still believe that this was due to the “big oil” lobbyists working hard against it.
