Well Honda released the FC Clarity in California, which is a rest bed for the the fuel cell technology.
The problem is not so much the actual supply of hydrogen but the cost of extraction of the hydrogen to be used as a fuel source as well as keeping it safe during transport and refueling. Remember hydrogen is highly flammable, especially with combined with oxygen (in gaseous form).
Hydrogen can be made from water by the process called electrolosis, which requires a lot of electricity for the little amount of hydrogen produced. Plus, scientists haven’t found a good way to store the gas that is produced or an efficient way to get the gas collected to the engine to power the car.
