Iceland is one of few countries with geothermal energy resources. The increasing demand for renewable energy coupled with Iceland’s need for finances has led to the first foreign company owning the rights to some of the country’s natural resources. Citizens are now demanding the government take the rights to that energy back and put it under public control.
