Question by : 2004 Honda CRF250R has trouble starting?
I just bought a 2004 Honda CRF250R. The guy before me went through and had the top end rebuilt by a dealership. However; every time I go to start it, I have to kick it close to 20-30 times or Roll start it. It has only been ridden twice by me for 2-3 hours at a time. Before that it was only ridden twice for about a combined total of an hour. I went through and changed both the oil and oil filter so it’s not bad oil. Any help or tips would be most appreciated. I’ve got a race coming up and I don’t want to kill it on the track and not be able to restart it
*NOTE* I have pushed the bike to race pace and it preformed excellent. It just has trouble starting

Your taking a newely rebuilt engine to a race track??…i’d recommend you ride it out in low rpms for atleast 600 miles before you do that…..regardless… make sure your spark plug is in good condition and replace if its black or worn out…make sure your carburetor idling is set a lil high at first…make sure the fuel air mix screw is also properly adjusted…
