Groundbreaking Lawsuit Accuses Big Oil of Conspiracy to Deceive Public About Climate Change July 03, 2008 Attorney Stephen Susman helped file a groundbreaking lawsuit earlier this year on behalf of 400 Inupiat villagers in the Alaskan town of Kivalina who are being forced to relocate because of flooding caused by global warming. The suit accuses twenty oil, gas and electric companies, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, BP, ConocoPhillips and Peabody, of being responsible for emitting millions of tons of greenhouse gases causing the Arctic ice to melt. As for america forcing China to adhere to US laws, good luck.
interesting, but I cant see how you can select individual companies and hold them accounable, Nationalised Gas and Oil would be equally liable as would other industries. Reccently the Gas and Oil industry all recognise global warming so I assume the deception was not in reccent years, how can you prove that at the time Oil and Gas knew global warming was occuring, neither did many governments including USA who untill recently focused on technical soloutions over reduction.
