The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. radiation no – toxic fumes (depending on the fuel) yes but they shouldn’t be too bad.

  2. No. Electromagnetic radiation is not ionizing radiation (it won’t mutate cells).

This link may answer your questions.

Yes, there is radiation, its called EMF.
    EMF stands for ElectroMagnetic Field.
EMF is generated by electricity, the greater the amount of electricity the greater the EMF.
These fields are believed to be harmful over time.

The intensities of EMF drops off fast with increased distance.
    Look up “inverse square law”.
Buy a house at the end of the block AWAY from the power plant or power lines. Every little bit of distance helps.

  4. There will be no radiation from the facility. With the environmental regulations and oversight today, I wouldn’t worry too much about emissions. As for EMF’s, no study has ever been able to prove that they pose a signficant risk. You will get more of that from your microwave and electric razer than from electric lines. I would say the asthetic impacts would be more of a nuisance than anything else.

Will living next to a 40 MW combined heat and power plant have any health effects on me?

The plant features a combustion turbine, heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), a steam turbine generator, and two auxiliary boilers. Is it possible for radiation or anything to emit from the facility?
