How can we mathematically calculate the amount of gallons leaving the BP oil spill per hour?

The hole is supposed to be 22 inches wide. Do we times the radius or the width of the oil hole times the speed, to determine the amount of gallons per hour? What is the correct formula? According to your formula, how many gallons of oil are leaving the hole per hour?
