Is it possible to build a nuclear reactor that is powered by nuclear fusion rather than nuclear fission?

Not yet Europe and the United States are both trying independent projects though for more info check this out

Yes.And for what?
Nuclear fusion is the basis for sun/stars. When we have so much energy to harvest, why a new nuclear reactor on earth to duplicate this?
Nobody has yet been able to make the fusion reaction self-sustaining; that is, producing more energy, sustainably, than it took to get it started. Sorry.
