   If you were local to us we would do it in NE GA as were in the Renewable Energy Business. If you need us I’m not allowed to give out our direct contact on the board but you could Google us, were pretty easy to find.

   You might could also try the Service Master Company web site as they are in the janitorial business and have local reps with right tools normally .

   Windex and a squeegy will do it , but you’ll need a long pole to reach out and touch something and not fall in the panels also.

   I am guessing since you are not going to be able to do it yourself that would be because of the difficulty in reaching the surface. The equipment that I envision would have to reach a 30 foot height and have an arm that could reach out. Tree trimming services use equipment that fits that description. Insurance is insurance in most places, no matter what they are doing. Since you will likely end up hiring the boss using his own truck on a weekend there is a good chance they will do it for the cost of transportation of the truck ( like $75) plus time. (about$50 or so). May I use your question on my website? (below)

4. I found its very important to have my solar panels cleaned regularly. My system was under-preforming about 25% every dry season. So, I couldn’t clean them myself, so I was looking online and found a company that specialize in just cleaning solar panels. Solar Klean did a fabulous job and exhibit professionalism. One of the reasons I chose them was because they are insured. Please don’t let no one work on your property without insurance.

   Look them up, be a satisfied customer like me.

5. Ours didn’t benefit that much from cleaning. I just went up on the roof with a good nozzle on the end of a hose, and blasted the panels. There was an immediate 25% gain in production (it actually pegged the inverter at maximum), but I’m sure that was just because it was hot in the summer, and the water cooled the panels. The next day at noon, there was maybe a 3% gain.

   The panels are tough – they’re made to take wind and the elements. If I were you, I would just blast them with a hose, and see if that helps. If it makes a huge difference, then you can call a window washer or something.

   In this season, it’s not necessary to clean panels where we live. The rain cleans them to a sparkling finish.

If you live in an area that doesn’t get a lot of rain, dust tends accumulate on photovoltaic panels, which means your panels receive less light (if you use the panels to heat water, then the panels use the sun’s heat, and dust isn’t too much of a concern), how much this is reducing your efficiency depends on how much rain you get throughout the year. To clean solar panels all you need to really do is hose them down, I would avoid using a cleaning agent as it could leave a residue that could also reduce your production. As far as cleaning the panels, try talking to your solar installer, it’s not uncommon for them to offer an annual cleaning service, and their installers are insured.
