Impact on specific steam consumption of turbine by improving power factor of generator?

We have 6 TG sets of 20, 8, 3*2, 2.5*2 MW capacity. All the alternators are designed at 0.8 pf. They are operated in island mode due to plant requirement and system constraint. Power factor of these alternators rvary in the range of 0.75 to 0.85. We have analysed steam consumption trends of these turbines and found that specific steam consumption is higher by 20 to 30 % over designed and at machine loading of 70 to 90%.
We intend to reduce the steam consumption by improving power factor of the system.
Please suggest along with calculations if it is feasible.
