  1. Depends on the size of the wind turbine, they come from 1kW (1000 Watts) or less, up to 6MW (6000000 watts).

    Wattage is the product of voltage and current. Depending on construction, you can have any combination of those to get the power specified.

    For example, a 600 watt generator could be generating 600 volts at 1 amp or 300 volts at 2 amps or 100 volts at 6 amps, or 12 volts at 50 amps. It all depends on the type of generator/alternator being used.

    Of course, any voltage/current combination can be changed to any other with transformers or inverters.

wind turbine question?

I am watching some videos on windturbines on you tube. Some of the videos say its generating volts, some say amps. I understand to get watts you do amps x volts. But if wind turbine is generating 30 volts how do you tell how many amps its generating? Can someone provide a website with same basic info on this?
