“I’d like to ask Mr. Hoffman, on what basis do you categorize the NRC as ‘careless’?” So asks one of the first speakers at the hearing, because of a document I had passed out and submitted to the NRC that evening. This event was a Nuclear Regulatory Commission hearing in Dana Point, California on October 22nd, 2009. The document being discussed is an amendment to NUREG-1437, the Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants.
