The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. You have to think about the amount of energy delivered to the building by the sun and the wind. Buildings around the generating station will put the solar panels in shade. The solar heat generator can only collect that sunlight that falls on the top of the building, about 1 KW per square meter and the possess is not 100% efficient.

You could build a geothermal plant anywhere there is a source, but the most efficient plants run on hot sources, like hot springs or places near geysers. Not too many of those in the middle of urban areas.

Given the costs, I imagine the amount of power generated would not be worth it, due to the limitations of a large city.

The ultimate green energy generating station?

Why not build an office building sized electricity generating station in a major city that incorporates – the entire outside of the building is covered in super-efficient solar panels, the top of the building has a solar heat generator, the bottom of the building has geothermal heat generating power, a giant wind turbine at the top generating wind power…any others that could be added to a building? I wonder if it would generate a decent amount of energy?
