The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. Well it is privatized right? You can`t vote them out if you don`t like it and you as a individual cannot compete in court with the money of a Group Of People aka company.

  2. There are many power companies in the US being beaten by the governments ugly stick. They’re being forced to keep their rates low because energy has seemed to have become a right, not a privilege. Electricity bills have been raising at a lower rate compared to inflation.

That seems to be what I’ve gathered anyway.

  3. Cause by saving power the electric company is not making as much money.

  4. Raising prices is one way to encourage people to use less electricity. If it’s cheap, you don’t give it a second thought, but as the price rises you begin to think before you use it. Look at what high gas prices did to the auto industry. Low gas prices basically allowed the US auto industry to produce inefficient autos for years, because nobody cared about gas consumption. One the prices rose, suddenly it became a big issue. Low gas prices could well be one of the biggest reasons why the government had to bail out GM and Chrysler if you think about it!

  5. This nonsense has been going on since 1960. The government tells us to conserve then grants the utility companies an increase in fees because their profits are down. As usual we get scr*wed by the politicians

Why in California have they pushed us to conserve electricity only to have them raise our rates?

No joke, the government is pushing people to save electricity, which is fine by me. My electric bill is lower, but now I just heard that they’re raising rates again.

So what is the deal? We all save electricity, the electric company’s revenue decreases and now they want to raise their rates so I have to pay what I was originally paying before my conservation efforts.
