The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

BP Fails To Plug Gulf Of Mexico Oil Leak With Top Kill Method, Plans To Try New Method

British oil giant BP is working on a new way of stopping the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico after its so-called “top kill” method failed. In the firm’s latest setback, BP said it had accepted the operation to block the hole with mud and other material had not worked after studying it for three days. “We have not been able to stop the flow,” chief operating officer Doug Suttles said, “We have made the decision to move on to the next option.” Hopes had been growing that the top kill method was beginning to stem the flow of oil after the US Coast Guard said the well had stabilised. The spill is the worst in US history and has dumped between 18 and 40 million gallons into the Gulf, according to government estimates. BP said it is already preparing for the next attempt to stop the leak – using robot submarines to cut off the damaged riser from which the oil is leaking, and then trying to cap it with a containment valve. It is as enraging as it is heartbreaking, and we will not relent until this leak is contained, until the waters and shores are cleaned up, and until the people unjustly victimised by this man-made disaster are made whole. US President Barack Obama The new attempt will take four days to complete. “We’re confident the job will work but obviously we can’t guarantee success,” Mr Suttles said of the new plan. Oil has been spewing from the well since the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded and sank on April 20, killing 11 workers and sparking an environmental disaster

I do not own this. I’m not making any money from it and I believe it is something everyone should see. This footage shows a small glimpse into BP’s “top kill” attempt to plug the leak point with mud. I’ve pasted links below where I found this information. The video almost looks like it’s a few frames looped over and over. The video is from WKRG News 5 (Mobile – Pensacola) www.wkrg.com and the Audio is from C-SPAN, www.c-span.org a committee of House Reps meeting with Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar on May 26, 2010, just before the “Top Kill” attempt by BP. § 107.Limitations on exclusive rights: Fair use Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.
