  1. look at the good part, now even my grandma’s car can sound like a mean mustang

  2. Artificial exhaust tones better serve to warn the blind and seeing-eye dogs, a detail this video neglected to mention. Seeing-eye dogs are trained take into account the sound of an exhaust tone, when crossing an intersection.

As for anyone else, if they lack the commonsense and visual acuity to judge obvious details like backup lights, a simulated exhaust tone is going to do very little to curb their stupidity.

  3. not a fan of adding sound to EVs. at all. I find the concept quite offensive

ECTunes — sound for electric and hybrid vehicles

ECTunes has developed a new and innovative technology, which provides electric and hybrid vehicles with sound. And it is not just the sound of an engine, a song or other already seen features. The new technology is unique in the way that sound is composed and designed to obviate the need for variation. When the EV moves forward, the sound is only in front of the vehicle — as a warning to vulnerable road users that a vehicle is approaching and at the same time minimizing unnecessary noise on the sidewalk. The sound from the vehicle is depending on the direction, speed and acceleration of the vehicle.
