COVINGTON, La. – BP said Wednesday it had begun injecting mud into the blown-out well in the hopes of stopping the Gulf oil disaster, shortly after the Coast Guard gave it a green light and its chief executive issued an apology of sorts. The oil giant said the operation started at 2 pm ET.

@POBox1999 excuse me but USA has MORE than enough to sort this out and not even realise the money gone. It’s the American demand for oil that caused this. America clean it up.
This disaster has global reprecussions. It’s time that all of thw worlds governments and corporations pooled their resources to do something about this. We can’t just sit by watching the underwater video broadcast of millions of gallons of oil being dumped into the gulf. We have the resources to do so much more to stop the leak and keep up with the cleanup. Our leaders and governments are failing us. Pressure your leaders to take action; pressure your representatives and your president. NOW!
