  4. That is not video of Deepwater Horizon, it is footage of the Piper Alpha rig that exploded in the North Sea back in 1988.

  5. @misterResEng Opt for nuclear power, think about it, nuclear power is the best kind of power there is.

  6. We give our best to contain the mistake we’ve done, but in reality our capacity is just limited. In this case, it is always better to learn from the mistake of others. After the incident, more consideration has been made on the drilling planning, especially on the well control part. Thus, worst case scenario are considered, even if it is to flow the well from the openhole section.

  7. @lucasmadrid

I’m in college, and I walk to work because my job is on campus… but that’s besides the point. I was simply stating that this disaster was a direct result of the capitalist desire.

  8. @evan274 this is why you dont have an account at the bank and every morning you go cycling to work, i wonder how come you got a pc and pay your electricity bills, capitalism is so badddd

  9. @navtel You’re a moron. It’s a beautiful track used wonderfully in several movies, all contrasted brilliantly with the peaceful, ambient flows of the music and the events taking place on screen. Traffic, and 28 Days Later are the two that spring to mind. Here, again, this piece of music was used quite well and fits perfectly within the context of this vid and the BP Oil Spill crisis.

  10. jee, you’d think the oil companies are drowning in their own money while the world drowns in troubles.
On top of that, alternative energie’s chances are pulverized to dust by those dumbasses mega hammers.
If they like their money so much – they should invest in developing alternative energies. they would still get their money in the end, only it won’t be as destructive as the oil industry

  11. @XxMatthiasPLxX I think I know what the original creator of this video was going for when he chose this music. It’s the final song from the movie “Traffic”. Supposed to suggest a contemplative mood, or something like that.

  12. Let’s of course forget that the rig was operated by an American company. But then blaming them wouldn’t be good for Obama’s ratings, would it?

  13. Seriously BP should be fined with all their liquid-able assets to the point where there is no BP on earth. All their cash and other assets are penutns compared to the damage they have done

  14. Another BP rig explodes today. BP is criminally incompetant. Who licenced BP to drill?

  15. @TandyManTV … face it, the music sucks.. the tragedy of the 11 men is terrible but the music still sucks.

  16. @navtel You bastard, who gives a fuck about the music. You selfless son of a bitch. Your worried about music, yeah Well quite frankly I have more to say. What about the 11 men that drew their last breath on that rig?

  17. oil drilling will just cause the end of clean water, which in turn will cause death to wildlife and humans; disease and illness and catastrophic environmental damage. Its all about money now. This WILL happen again, its not a matter of if but when. we have to start doing everything for the environment now if we want the species of earth to survive the next 100 years. this is tragic, yes, but what good comes from raping the earth of its resources only to screw ourselves and the earth in the end?

BP Oil Spill – TOPKILL operation in progress (timelapse 1fp5s)

Shot today from the BP live video stream on British Peroleum website. Video shows ROV image and other ROV doing … something… The Blowout preventer is clearly visible towards the end of the video.
Video Rating: 2 / 5

This is the full video of the Rig explosion **News** BP started the “top kill” operations to stop the flow of oil from the MC252 well in the Gulf of Mexico at 1300 CDT on May 26, 2010. Despite successfully pumping a total of over 30000 barrels of heavy mud, in three attempts at rates of up to 80 barrels a minute, and deploying a wide range of different bridging materials, the operation did not overcome the flow from the well.
