The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. Obumble WANTS a disaster down there so they can impose draconian rules upon “Big Oil”

It’s the “Progressive” way; Cloward-Piven strategy.

    Watch and learn.

  2. Obama is an idiot and will only cater to those that he knows will vote for him and minorities, just think back, did Obama even bother coming to AZ,TX, or LA on the campaign trail, Hell No.

  3. According to the law enacted after the Exxon accident the US government is responsible for protecting the shoreline. They completely abdicated and ignored that responsibility. It could in fact be said that they actively hindered shoreline protection due to bureaucratic overlap. Carville is correct.

  4. Yes, and as a Democrat it must be galling for him to have to do so. It reinforces the fact that it is not only Obama detractors who believe he has mishandled and tried to play down this catastrophic man made disaster, but also staunch supporters who believe he is not fully engaged in taking care of America’s business and protecting the environment.

  5. James Carville is NOT blaming President Obama for the ongoing oil spill, but he is a New Orleans RESIDENT (along with his wife, Republican Strategist Mary Matelin), and the ones who live in New Orleans are grieving, frustrated, and yes…ANGRY at what is happening to their beloved city and coastline. Carville has also voiced some concerns about the pending hurricane seasons and the Army Corps of Engineers’ pumps, which he feels might not be sturdy enough to help in a hurricane-caused flooding crisis. He mentioned a letter sent to the Obama administration requesting an indepth inspection and analysis by higher-ups to ascertain whether the Army Corps of Engineers have done slipshod work or fudged their figures (as they did for the girders’ depth and strength prior to Hurricane Katrina). At yesterday’s report, there are 1200 ships in the region collecting oil, there are Coast Guard interventions and monitoring activities, the Interior Secretary and his entourage of leading physicists, specialists, and scientists (including Nobel Prize-winning physicist Chu, President Obama’s Secretary of Energy) are on the scene, the President has gotten an agreement from British Petroleum to PAY ALL CLEAN-UP and DAMAGES COSTS over and above the GOP-imposed $75 million cap that has been in effect for the past 9 years…what more can one man do without getting in the way? President Obama is holding a press conference today at 11:00 cst (12:00 eastern time), and tomorrow he is making his second trip to the effected areas. I hope during this Friday visit, President Obama MEETS with the locals whose businesses are in jeopardy, and meets with people like James Carville, or the man who was interviewed on CNN yesterday and this morning—people who LIVE and WORK in New Orleans or along the coastline. The contract that was signed between BP and the GOP-controlled House, Senate, and White House clearly states that BP will be responsible for repairs, clean-up, and costs if a spill occurs, but I am in agreement that anyone involved in the shoddy inspects (both MMS employees and BP workers) should face CRIMINAL CHARGES, so I hope Attorney General Eric Holder is paying close attention as the evidence is brought forward. What you may not understand is that when a President travels anywhere, traffick is held up for security purposes, Secret Service has to block off large chunks of area where the President will be, and locals are put at a disadvantage—this may be why President Obama has avoided trying to “grandstand” for the “photo-op” by simply staying in touch with the people he’s sent.

Is James Carville correct in blaming Obama?

James Carville Slams Obama on Oil Spill Response

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20006016-503544.html

Democratic political strategist James Carville, a resident of Louisiana, slammed President Obama this morning for the “political stupidity” of his response to the disastrous oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

“The president doesn’t get down here in the middle of this… I have no idea of why they didn’t seize this thing,” Carville said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “I have no idea of why their attitude was so hands off here.”

The White House has been on the defensive about its response to the spill, which began when the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded on April 20, killing 11 people. Millions of gallons of oil have already spilled into the Gulf, and government agencies are still working with BP to try and cap the leak.

The administration is stressing the fact that it has sent thousands of response vessels and thousands of personnel, including top cabinet officials, to the scene. However, the president himself has only made one brief appearance in the region since the spill began and has only spoken publicly about the incident six times in the past five weeks, according to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller.
