The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. @lilnicky47 ya i am, i go to a top engineering college and Im a retard what about you?

  2. nuclear power is the cleanest source of energy if done right, it has almost no waste and the actual waste can be contained in a small area rather than all other sources of energy which cannot be contained, also no other type of power is as efficient, wind energy is grossly inefficient and does not produce nearly enough to justify its costs

  3. Since Fukushima in March 2011, Japan has elected a pro-nuclear national government as well as pro-nuclear governors in the provinces. But 30,000 protesters seem to outweigh this according to the western media. Despite Chernobyl the Ukraine continues to use Nuclear power and in expanding its reactors from 15 to 22.

  4. Do people remember that a massive earthquake measuring 8.9 on the richter scale and a tsunami killed 20,000 people and made homeless thousands more and now the nuclear plant is the one responsible. Do you know the earthquake and Tsunami was the actual disaster here. I am not insensitive to the plight of these people but I know where to place the blame.

  5. Another perspective is that the amount of waste produced by nuclear power is 2 pounds for each person (fits into a coke can) compared to 68 tonnes of coal put into the atmosphere per person. Coal fired plants expose the population to around 200 times more radioactive by-roducts than nuclear power plants do in their entire lifecycle.

  6. Annual waste from one reactor will fit into a pickup truck and the fuel from 50 years of reactor operation will fit in a football field amounting to 77,000 tons. We discard 179,000 tons of batteries a year & they contain toxic heavy metals. When solar panels expire after the average 25 years they must be disposed of in toxic dumps as they contain highly toxic metals, gases & solvents that are carcinogenic. Some of these toxic substances in solar panels will never decay, never ending life span.

  7. Its funny to notice people endorse renewables like wind/solar but asked what source of energy they use it’s rarely the case.Christie Brinkley who is anti-nuclear and pro renewable says she can’t use solar because she has too many trees on her Hamptons property. Or Barbara Streisand who advises people to hang their washing in the sun instead of using a dryer but admitting to the New York Post she never meant that it applied to her. People here sprooking solar, have you bought a solar panel?

  8. p.s. and more important i dont need the energy producers and their politician puppets. Those however do whatever they can to uphold the nuclear power and slow the innovation process. It takes pressure from the people in times like this to change their mind. Angela Merkel and her turn away from nuclear power was just possible because of Fukushima. ( And she has a doc. in physics, she knew better all the time ;-)

  9. Nuclear power is unresponsible, we have a power source that should be exploited more efficient, the sun, even the light itself is enough if technology made efficient.
New techs make solar energy the future of energy production. The trend is to be independent. If i have a foil on the window, transparent yet a solar collector, that can blind itself and act as a display (touchscreen) and such techs already exist thanx to nano technology, then i dont need nuclear power anymore.

  10. “No nuclear plant is safe, its a ticking bomb, no matter how advanced the technology might be, it still is a big challange to controll the chain reaction, it is just a matter of time until it happens again, anywhere”, Michail Umanez, former director of Chernobyl. In the past few years we had several failures in NPPs around europe, we fortunately had more luck than the japanese. Glad we are out but france has several npps along our border, if the case of an acciodent we are screwed anyway.

  11. please stop ALL nUclear power NOW. Chernobyl and fukushima have proved what devastation it causes to our planet and all inhabitants…..

  12. Just think about.. at 30 µSv/h the yearly dose would be 0.259 Sv from external Radiation only!!! If you add the internal radiation from breathing, eating and drinking then the situation is just unbelievable. The work of this women should be appreciated.
