The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. @everyone who says they can only hear engine, that’s all you’ll ever hear BECAUSE the rules state for hybrids that the system can only be engaged once the car hits 120 KPH and when it is engaged the fuel engine will still be engaged to the rear while the electric will drive the front wheels at the same time. this system is proven to last Porsche used this system in a GT3 car and dominated the 24 hours of the nurburgring a couple of years ago until the fuel engine failed NOT THE HYBRID ENGINE!

  2. @fsabau more fuel effecient, thus allowing the car to make fewer stops for fuel, less time spent in the pits and more time on the track!

  3. @StevenQ74 flat blade wipers can’t change shape to conform to the wind screen, which has different diameters all the way around it

  4. @legendarygunman316 they were using a go pro camera and those camera’s are very prone to doing that on machines that create high RPM in their engines, look at any karting video using a go pro and you’ll see what i mean, they can go up to 112 MPH if given a long enough straight, so it doesn’t take much speed, just a whole lot of vibration with high RPM

  5. this engine has an awesome sound! the audi’s and peugeot’s tdi sounds sucks

  6. @legendarygunman316 LOL – it’s THAT fast! ;-) I think that’s an image stabilization artifact.

  7. @nagasako7 LOL – what F1 season were you watching last year! The Red Bull had no KERS for the first several races of the season and the rest of the season it was iffy at best. Result? Manufacturer’s World Championship and Driver’s World Championship.
It’s not a fair comparison since KERS is a push-to-pass system that can only be used for a few seconds a lap. At LeMans it will be active all the time and give Toyota multiple strategy options – carrying less fuel per stint, making less stops, etc

  8. @paulbell56 No, until the system actually fires up the V8! Yes, endurance racing rules.

  9. All LMPs have to have the same weight. Toyota chose to use that excess weight for hybrid drive instead of default ballast led ingots.

Besides, a RBR with a broken KERS is slower than a Williams/Force India/Virgin.

  10. Is it just me or does this car sound like a motorbike? Pretty cool though

  11. I wonder why they don’t use flatblade wipers, they work so much better.

  12. @classiccafe1 the wiper is ment to be in the middle.. best airflow over the cockpit then…

  13. @Tarten46 No, that just sounded like a shift into top gear for the last bit of the straight to me. The electrics are probably engaged on the straights, though, similar to F1 KERS.

  14. It sounds like an Allison turbine starting up, until the ear recognizes the V8 sound. Cool stuff. Le Mans racing rules!

  15. concept is just talk… Toyota, Honda and Ford all have plug in hybrids available in 2012, 2012 and 2013 respectivly.

  16. Why the hell don’t they just make the thing a diesel-electric? In essence a battery powered car with a diesel generator? With that you don’t need a gearbox as you use a small diesel engine as a generator only. That system would be much more efficiant with less energy loss.

  17. This is amazing, does anyone know if this will be showcased at the Toronto Auto Show? And when is it coming to market and how much dinero is this going to cost?

  18. I like it. If only they had a similar setup for the c30. 350 hp effectively awd c30!
