Question by : How to build a magnet motor?
I’ve been reading about renewable energy and want to build a power system that will allow me to be free from the grid. I’ve decided to build a magnetic motor, but don’t have an idea where to start. Does anyone have a suggestion where I can find good information to build a quality motor?
Thank You!

A motor with magnets and no electrical windings is called a perpetual motion machine.

Here is the simplest motor design: http://mit.edu/cmse/educational/motor_lp_kristy.pdf
This is to small to power anything really. It just illustrates a point. more complex designs can be found here: http://hades.mech.northwestern.edu/index.php/Brushed_DC_Motor_Theory
Its pretty hard to build a quality DC motor. If your interested in building a renewable power system, you’ll want to build whats called an alternator. It works by inducing a current in a wire by ALTERNATING the magnetic field. you’ll need a lot of wire and some strong magnets. Good luck.
Hi, Michael
I put a solar system on my house, but didn’t produce energy year round. So I did some research and found this website on magnetic motors. This is one of the best sites out there.
