  1. you need to find out what knid of warranty you have and read it carefuly cause not everything is covered

  2. well if the light on. you pay the deduction or you pay for the parts or labor not cover in your warranty.

  3. You might have left the gas cap loose. Or any of about 300 things that can turn on the engine light. Before taking it to the dealer drive by the auto zone or parts store that will check the code for you free. If it is P0455 you left the gas cap loose. If there are other code or codes present and the car is less than 50,000 emissions controls are warrantied that long. Year and miles would help me with where you should go getting the car fixed. Good luck

  4. take it to auto zone or other auto parts store and ask if they do a free OBD test (On Board Diagnostics). if so, they will hook the car to a little machine and it will tell you what the “error message” is that made the light come on. Then you can get a better idea of what is wrong and find out the cost of the problem.
If no place does it free in your area, then you can go to the dealer. you might have to pay for it, but if the problem is covered by the warranty, then they may cover the OBD scan too. Ask before you have it done what the cost will be and their policy about charging if it is a warranty covered problem.
It could be a million things some very cheap and some very not cheap…some of which will be covered by the warranty and some of which won’t….you have to know what that error is to find out what’s wrong.

  5. The engine and all related components would be covered under factory warranty including parts and labor. You pay nothing.

  6. i think i depends. i know a friend in florida she has a nissan sentre and hers did the same thing. she brought it to the nissan dealership and they fixed it for free

  7. You are crazy to take a car under warranty to autozone of all places. Take it to the dealer, that is there job. I am actually surprised that a Saturn made it to 48K, it is now on borrowed time.

My Saturn Ion is under warranty. My check engine light is on. What do I pay for if theres a big problem?
