The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. They are connected in series.
Subsequent panels get connected in parrellel etc. Depends on how much you want voltage wise out of your panels etc…

  2. Didn’t you want to connect these all (both rows) in “series” do get the most of your voltage.?

  3. Yes, DON’T use it.
Wear a mask for safety by all means but don’t use lead-free solder.
This soldering your doing with this has to be 100% proof against fracturing or the joint failing.
    Lead-free solder doesn’t guarantee this.

Or to put it another way, if you use lead-free solder you’ll end up risking having to rip open your sealed panel to try and fault-find why it’s not working at full efficiency :)

  4. funny thing is, it’s probably true shit haha. good video though man. you know anything about electro magnet motors/generators? building one of those to power a house or car would be epic.

  5. I can’t promise it man, but if you check out my home website’s that are on my channel page I MAY, in the future, do some web pages on them.
Really I can’t explain it much more than I have on the video though…
I’ve sent you a PM with some forum’s that have additional stuff on them about Off-the-grid stuff etc.

  6. Can you please make a website explaining step by step instructions? Please!!!!! Please!!!!!

  7. This video is great. See my home energy stuffif you like SOLAR POWER. Merry Christmas Y’all!

  8. Have you had problems with your cells overheating? I tried encapsulating some cells onto an 8mm plexiglas face down (sun exposed part of cell on the plexiglas, EVA at the back). When I test panel, I got really good numbers, but after a few minutes in the sun, the cells seem to be heating up and my voltage and amps start dropping.

  9. The bigger the area of solar panel, the more electricity it will generate. COOL.
BTW, it is also a good idea to have the solar panels over a box containing a small fan (notebook cooler fan) with openings, which can help keep the temperature of solar plates down. Cos the efficiency of solar plates will decrease with an increase in temperature of the plates.

  10. Thanks! I am trying over here…I think I am running out of
ideas. Any ideas would be nice! Haha.. Have a great night!

  11. Yeah, it’s not quite the homsteading version but it’s a start :)
You have a serious homestead video collection man!

  12. Much appreciated mate, I try and make my videos so they have that ‘get out there and do it’ vibe :D

DIY Solar Panel 1

How to make solar panels. You’ll need: Solar Cells (The 0.5 volt / 3.6 Amp type) Soldering Iron 2 x Perspex sheets at least 3mm thick EVA material Araldite or silicon sealant Heat Gun / Hair Dryer Material for spacer ‘beading’ Further SOLAR RESOURCE INFO: www.squidoo.com This part will be covering the soldering, wire connections and EVA applying to the solar panels. The cells are wired up in a series configuration resulting in a theoretical 8 volts from 16 cells. However in extreme sunshine this can result in a 10 volt reading. Please Rate and Sub for more videos :) Cost for all materials was approx £40.
