The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. Our world gets more and more dangerous everyday. Corruption is everywhere: Our goverment. TV. Magazines. You can’t even turn on the television without being bombarded with overloads of sexual advertisements! It’s horrible and sad. But if you think about it, all through out the history of life, there have been wars, violent deaths, hatred, intolerance of other religions, and even intolerance of homosexuals. There has always been corruption of goverments, and evil in the hearts of people. Yes, there are more problems today that the past may not have had, like the polar ice caps and global warming, but those kinds of things are things the world can deal with on it’s own.
If we were to completely dissapear, the world would eventually go back to how it was. After all, everything you see around you came from the earth/ocean in one way or the other.
It’s hard to think about, especially when you want to bring a baby in this world, but the best thing you can do is arm them with knowledge, intelligence, and strength, and hope that they, somehow, can be people who make good differences in a world that is always leaning toward negative forces.

  2. i dont think the world is more dangerous but people are less nieve these days. The ease of access of present news and the world economy were events thousands of miles away can effect fuel prices at the petrol station down the road. news travels faster. these or similar problems have always bin there but people even care or know they existed in days gone by.

  3. i think the world gets dangerous everyday. it’s to the point that i feel guilty for bringing a baby into it!
i read something that said by the year 3000 (if we are still around) man will be so advanced that it’ll have to go down. they even went as far to say that humans will start being born deformed and things like that. in other words, what goes up, must come down.

  4. Chronic diseases like cancer are more common today because people live longer. !00 years ago the average life expectancy was 48 years, and most people died before they had a chance to have cancer, diabetes, or alzheimer’s disease.

As for all the devices that give off electromagnetic energy, the potential risks have been debated for about 70 of those 100 years, and the answer remains inconclusive.

Most scientists agree that there is no evidence to suggest that these devices are hazardous to the users’ health. If you are not convinced, nothing is stopping you from removing the devices from your immediate surroundings. Surely you can set up the wireless router somewhere further from your bed.

The main cause of the other items you list is greed, which can be relieved to some extent by voting carefully.

    Good luck!

  5. Do you realize how many different “Predicted Apocalypses” there have been?
All of the things you mention are definitely worth thinking about, but not worrying about.
As far as being a dangerous world, do you realize not much more that 100 years ago the average life expectancy was 45 years? (for many reasons)
By the time you are 45 the average life expectancy will be over 100 years.
You can sit and worry yourself sick about things you can’t control. You can move your router, stay away from CRTs (TVs and Computer monitor), and not use the microwave (none of these are harmful with normal use), and fall victim of some unforeseen accident.
Besides, once the meteor hits the earth, all of that worrying will have done nothing but wrecked the potential good days. (Just kidding about the meteor)

  6. Things may seem more dangerous because people are living longer, thus diseases which show up at a later age appear in more people. War has always been with us and is not more dangerous than at any time before.

Electronic devices have never been shown to have a deleterous effect on our brains; Global Warming happens on a regular cycle because of the sun, There is no “oil deficiency” only a lack of willingness to drill for and process it; The Polar Ice Caps are thicker than they have been in years. The next likely problem, which is already starting to occur is Global Cooling as we are near the change in climate cycles where a new “ice age” may occur.

All in all, the world is probably less dangerous for the common person than it has ever been.

  7. More dangerous in modern times????????
    What are you thinking?
The average lifespan has steadily increased from
30-40 in medieval times to over 78 today.
(QED for the exact opposite of your premise.)
As to increase in diseases of old age,
“you gotta live long enough to catch them”.

  8. It also depends on your perspective. I don’t have to worry about an animal making me its lunch or whether I can start a fire tonight to stay warm or where I can find clean water or food for tomorrow. I don’t have to worry that someone will come and take away the food I have. These are all things that humans have had to worry about for a very long time. The news media makes a big deal about plane crashes but way more people die in car crashes every day. Illnesses that have killed millions of people in the past are no longer a threat. We have medical procedures to deal with broken bones, many types of infections, etc. It was not too long ago that these things were not true.

As far as Apocalypse, as another answer said, human history is full of people predicting the “end of the world”.

As far as electromagnetic waves, you are right, we don’t know for sure but, if you ride in a car everyday, your chance of dying in a car is a lot higher than dying from some electromagnetic thing 70 years from now.

Is our world dangerous in these modern times?

Question by Tim: Is our world dangerous in these modern times?
Think about it. Diseases like cancer are much more common nowadays, and on top of that computer use and television use, and even mcrowave use are harmful and kill brain cells

http://www.avantnews.com/modules/ne…

Can wireless routers be harmful as well, because mine is a few feet away from where I sleep!

With all of this as such a common occurance, I think we are really killing a lot of our brains. I am just a teenage, but by the time I am old they’ll probablly discover just how dangerous it is but by then it’ll be too late. This makes sense since our brains depend so much on electrical signals, it’s to be expected that these singals are interfering with our brains. I don’t want to live impaired by our own modernization.

Global Warming
War
Oil Deficiency
Melting Polar Ice Caps

And now this…

Maybe the “Predicted Apocalypse” really will be in 2012…?

Yes im on top of apocolipse Ive done all the research and it dosent make any sence because they say the earth is going to tilt a certain way where the sun will go beserk but it goes the same way every year and 2012 is marked on the ancient calendars because thats when the celebrations were…they called it the sun celebrations and they occoured every 1000 years so I miss the 90’s when everything was much more innocent…
But global warming is happening and its not because of us its the natural earth cycle.

What do you think? Answer below!
