www.epicphysics.com How to build a small homemade small wind turbine generator using household materials. This simple small wind turbine was made from scratch and was 100% made by me with materials that can be found in almost any home. I used a PC cooling fan, some 5mm plywood , some cable ties/tie wraps, scrap aluminum and some LEDs. This is no a vertical axis wind turbine, it is a micro horizontal axis wind turbine.

Hello! Thanks a lot for this useful video. By the way, I notice many people keep on talking about Xobotano Home Energy (google it), but I’m not sure if it is really good. Have you thought about this alternative home energy known as Xobotano Home Energy? I’ve heard several extraordinary things about it.
Yes, it charges the battery while its turning, you should try it, its very cheap and effective.
it can charge the baterry?
i think the blades would turn better if was facing opposite direction, of course mounting would be more difficult and different cuz you would need to keep the fan frame to mount the horizontal pole
What would u say the avg output of this little guy is at around 10-15 mph winds?
It still surprise me, just how a lot of people do not know about Xobotano Home Energy (do a google search), despite the fact that lots of people save a large amount of money with this alternative energy. Thanks to my buddy who told me about Xobotano Home Energy, I’ve cut my power bill by 75% in under Thirty days
Thanks
No problem, good luck making your own wind turbine.
Thank you you this really helped it very much helped me in my endeavors toward being more selfefficient
Hey There! Thanks a lot for this useful video. By the way, I hear a lot of people keep on talking about Xobotano Home Energy (search on google), but I’m not sure if it is really good. Have you tried this alternative home energy called Xobotano Home Energy? I have heard several extraordinary things about it.
Thanks, its really simple to make, all you need to do is scale it up a bit and you’d have enough to power some pretty hefty stuff within the home.
this is a neat, clean and easiest way to make wind turbine i er see
I just used small diameter copper wire which i soldered onto the two wires coming from the generator, any type of wire will do really, phone cable, alarm cable or anything else of a small diameter.
I did not see what wires he used so could you tell me please?
Cool, post it as a video response and i’ll approve it. Good luck :)
I’m in going to make one to your video gave me more ideas so thanks i’ll post it when i’m done.
I think you’d need a small few more to power a home ;), its worth a try though :)
Cool, good luck with it, its fairly easy.
Now to power a whole house :)
you have inspired me i will be making one of those thank you
Yep, this is the issue but if you actually made a propeller for a turbine you could actually turn it backwards then attach it to a good motor and the darn thing would blow a tremendous amount of wind.
With a PC fan the actual best way to do it is remove the blades and attach your own. So much more power this way.
Oh i get you now, i had no idea what was going on. Yeah it probably would work better that way, its a lot of hassle to get it of its axle though, plus the shaft the axle goes through usually doesn’t protrude all the way through if you get me so you’d have to make your own hole.
I think what they are talking about is like an airplane propeller can be used for a turbine but MUST be turned backwards due to one cuts the wind and in reverse actually grabs the wind which is what a turbine needs.
I don’t know if the propellers in the PC fan work like this but I bet so.
Guys, making your own home energy doesn’t need to be difficult (I used to feel it did). I’ll give you some advice right now. Search a alternative home energy called Xobotano Home Energy (search on google). Seriously, Xobotano Home Energy has save a large amount of my money. I probably should not even be talking about it cause I do not want a bunch of other folks out there running the same “game” but whatever, I’m in a good mood today so I will share the wealth haha.
No i didn’t change anything, all i did was take it straight out of a PC and take a few parts away so its was more aerodynamic :)
