This sounds like you want to build your own automobile.
With these things you do not start from scratch. You find them ready well developed and made on mass production basis with reputable brands.

Buy one, or find one at a junk yard.
It would take a lot of money, a lot of experience, a good machine shop, and a winding shop to build a good working generator. And the first few probably would would not work. You could invest many thousands of dollars and not get anything that worked.
.
Perhaps the easiest you could connect a belt to would be an automotive alternator. It could be powered by a lawnmower engine or similar. The 12Vdc is used to charge and maintain a battery. You could get 120VAC from an inverter.
Do a web search for lawnmower engine generator
