The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. ESCULTURAS KINÉTICAS. . . . THEO JANSEN. . .

    viento.

*Dutch artist Theo Jansen makes kinetic sculptures out of PVC that can move
on their own using wind power. He hopes to one day create an “artificial
intelligence” for his creations that can overcome any obstacle in their
    environment and move forever.*

  3. Those creations are BEAUTIFUL and fascinating! These, are great ideas that
can be think upon and who knows?
What the next generation can revolution this concept into something much
    greater!
How I’d love to live to another 200 more years to see man’s invention
    evolved into something extraordinary.

  4. It is amazing, to see art and science working together to form a creature
that moves… I just thought of something incredible. Only a crazy
scientist who perceives reality as an artist, will understand what I have
envisioned. Look… if this artist has created a giant motion creature that
resembles some type of a microscopic life entity that moves through the
air… Is it possible that the whole of “Life on Earth” may be moved by
wind the same way? And here is the most perplexing part of my imagination.
It is in the Old Testament, Genesis 2:7 “Then the LORD God formed a man
from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of
life, and the man became a living being.” With “breath of life” and “wind”
being almost the same energy that gives movement to the inanimate
    matter…?

  5. Those machines are amazing, but he sounds so pretentious/crazy calling them
    “new forms of life.”

  6. Kinetic sculptor and artist Theo Jansen builds ‘strandbeests’ from yellow
plastic tubing that is readily available in his native Holland. They are
    powered by the wind.

  7. They’re amazing, but seriously, if you went to the beach at dusk and saw
one of those from a distance it’d be pretty damn scary.
