are secondary cells galvanic cells or are they electrolytic cells?

im abit confused when they ask about secondary cells in yr 12 chem bcos i have to know if its a galvanic cell or electrolytic cell so that i can determine the charges and which electrodes are the cathode and anode
if you can answer this for me.. ill be very appreciative =DD
