The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. There are an abundance of resources though here in the states and elsewhere which can contribute to the overall energy needs of the planet like coal, uranium, oil, biofuels, wind, solar, geothermal. It is just a matter as to how we get their or start becoming efficient in how we use the resources of the planet. Solutions are obvious and things should’ve been implemented decades ago especially in the U.S. Plenty of ways to go about it and I take it some countries are way ahead of the U.S.

  2. looks like the technological solutions are already here to solve a bunch of current energy issues. It will just take time to get it all to market. Does this also mean the days of the oil markets are numbered????

  3. Branson’s Virgin Atlantic did a duplicate test this week February 2008 with one engine running 5% biodiesel all tremendously tentative and conservative exploration. Actually Branson has also invested in the development of BIOBUTANOL, a kind of alcohol that is more compatible (actually 100% compatible) with today’s auto fuels and the fuel distribution infrastructure. (An unmodified Buick sedan drove coast to coast in American, passing air quality standards in every state in which it traveled.)

  4. Algae is the future of biodiesel. Algae grown in clear plastic tubes produces half biofuel, half fish food for Tilapia. The biodiesel fixes huge amounts of carbon during storage and transportation, which will dramatically reduce greenhouse gases. The oceans are running out of fish, and Tilapia is the world’s fastest growing agricultural crop.

Biofuel for Airlines

Tests are under way to test running a single Rolls Royce Jet engine on Boeing 747 running on a blend of kerosene and bio-fuel. Considering a 747 needs 16 tonnes of fuel to take off and to get to cruising height. It’s gonna take an awful lot of fields out of food production to fly the skies!
