Could a cathode ray be used for propulsion in a manner similar to an ion drive?

I understand the thrust would be even many times weaker even than an ion thruster, but I think there would be the possibility of unlimited fuel given that electrons could potentially be replenished from the solar wind. Is my logic sound?
