Were pumped dry and abandoned but now flow naturally (1989). locals use direct for lamps and some engines. notice the vapour showing the light nature of one well Dutch Oil Wells Project The Dutch Oils Wells Project is made up of two previously producing oil fields, located in South Karangringin, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The project involves the rehabilitation of approximately 300 wells in both the Suban Burung Oil Field and the Mangunjaya Oil Field. The Mangunjaya Oil Field is approximately 6.25 square kilometres in size and was also in production between 1933 and 1945 by Royal Dutch Shell (BPM), Standard of New Jersey (Exxon), Stanvac (Mobil) and Conoco Phillips. The wells in this field were also shut-in in 1945
