& summer time more so as we are outside so much..

Absolutely……I sincerely try. The motive is not only to save money, but save energy as well.
Turn off the lights when not in use, use a thermostat to regulate the AC, and even turn off all appliance sockets before going to bed – tv, computer, music system, etc..
