The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. the only thing that matter to Fox on this news, is that the solar panels looks ugly instead of talking about the fact of the anergy saving for this community represent.

  2. Solar Power YES…. put them in my backyard… to the electric companies, can you compete against the SUN

  3. These people have no shame. Fox News Channel should change its name to Fox Comedy Channel or Faux News Satire Channel.

  4. You know what looks more like an eyesore? All those power lines criss crossing above the street, whenever i walk through streets like that, i just wanna get the hell outta there asap. o-o

  5. Critising Fox news is like shooting fish in a barrel. It seems from the stuff i have seen of Fox they want to destroy the world. How can any american vote for a republican? It seems ludricious to me that anyone would want to vote for them. Considering that FOX represent republican. Isnt that obvious? How many stupid people could there be in the US. May their god have mercy on us all.

  6. @Turtleman7007 My screen name instantly identifies me as not being a Lib. That contributes to “transparency”. Your comment of course makes zero case for your opposing point of view. I stated actual facts from my own real world experience in actually LIVING off grid. You are “dreaming’ how neat it is. You have no idea of the cost to live normally.

  7. why use energy from the sun that’s 93 million miles away when we can bring the energy of the sun right here to earth… Polywell Fusion.

  8. how are the solar panels any more ugly than huge tangly telephone poles and wires that look like a huge mess

  9. @luvcheney1 not suprising to hear such flawless logic from a guy who admits that he loves one of the guys who was in charge on the energy policy during bush’s reign of error in his youtube name. cause oil is definately the way to go

  10. @TianSan Part 2. You may not be aware, but the sun goes down at night, and sometimes it is cloudy, and it isnt summer all yr. So, 5500 watts are necessary for an ONLY 400 sq ft home, and you must be able to store power as well. You know that our electricity is NOT stored? Is produced on demand? 55each 100W solar panels are not enough, unless many batteries are used to store. With 4ea 100W panels, and 8 ea 62 lb Trojan 6v in pairs, you still dont use air conditioning, and 1 hr TV only.

  11. @TianSanOpportunities to profit out of greed, come into the market automatically, naturally, as soon as they are seen. Solar panels and power are well known already. Since they arent sold without subsidy, that is the proof. But I will outline the issue, as I own an RV with solar, and live off grid 2 months a yr. A 400 sq ft RV needs 50 amps, or 5500 watts to live normally, with air conditioning. That is 55 solar panels, at noon, in summer, without clouds. 400 sq ft!

  12. @luvcheney1 Again… I don’t see your proof that initial costs, is more than the savings in the long term without subsidy. Again I state, the reason why people aren’t buying it, is because of poor marketing, initial cost is only part of the problem.

If Apple started marketing Solar Panels, I bet everyone in the world would buy start buying it.

  13. @TianSan Initial costs could be financed, over a long term. But that cost is higher than the savings, that is why it can NOT be accomplished, without subsidy. Few can pay cash for a home, car, etc too, but people buy them, because it makes sense. This doesnt.

  14. @luvcheney1 The only way it would be uneconomic is if the prices you save on it costs less than the installation itself and the time it would take to replace it and upkeep it. I do not see that happening to support your case. The reason why nobody would use it without subsidy, is because of INITIAL costs, and that there hasn’t been a major company out there to step forward to offer this technology and lack of marketing.

  15. “Big Oil” gets about 24 cents per megawatt hour of energy in subsidies. Solar and wind gets about $23 per megawatt hr. There. Now YOU have what is called a “fact”, reported by the Dept of Energy, of the US. Any motherfucking asshole who thinks solar or wind makes sense, ought to be aware that those fantasy energy sources would never exist, except for Govt taxing away productive capital, giving it to uneconomic enterprises.

  16. Solar Power can only run efficiently during the day so it should not be a primary source of power. (except for maybe on the moon or in space) BUT it still be used as a secondary power source in street lights/signs, recharging batteries, etc. I hope one day fusion power comes online, particularly Polywell Fusion.

  17. @TianSan I think we need energy, using it isnt waste. I agree energy from a panel is new energy. It has a cost, it isnt free. The cost is the price of the panels, the wiring and installation labor and hardware, upkeep, and depreciation. Eventually they will be replaced. ( How many years? I havent a clue). The cost therefore is the lost return on capital required to put them in service, plus depreciation and upkeep. Govt subsidizes it, because nobody would use it without a subsidy. Its uneconomic

  18. i’m not gonna lie, it looks like an eye sore but who gives a fuck about if it looks “pretty”!? it’s helping our planet so stfu and let it be! i swear, some people are fucken stupid

  19. this SO CALLED news channel is embarrassing, treating people like retards and sadly there are a lot of actual retards out there who truly believe everything that shitty dumb ass propaganda station is promoting. n00bs

  20. I also love the lady with a shaded property who didn’t have a solar panel complaining about the snow possibility of the snow falling on someone and only then having a small possibility of actually hurting them. Her property is shaded how? From trees most likely, which always have very heavy snow build-up that often falls on people, possibly taking the branch along with it. Stupid, stupid lady.

  21. Not very surprising about Fox’s story and cherry-picked interviews being biased. If I were in that crowd, I would have shouted about interviewing someone in favor of them (i.e. me).

Minor snow build up vs. pollution, global warming and through it even heavier rain and snowfall, etc.? I think I’ll take my chances with a solar panel, or dare I say, walk on the other half of the sidewalk.

  22. Thats a great idea, however wouldn’t you want them where it is sunny most of the time? I don’t know about New Jersey, but the only time in Pennsylvania we have alot of sun seems to be in the summer. So its not really practical to use solar.

Couldn’t they have perhaps used smaller panels and used transformers to increase the voltage produced? I don’t quite remember the section on transformers in my electrical course last year, but I think you would have higher current levels. I don’t remember.

Fox News Hates Solar Power?

150+ Fox News Bias videos at www.youtube.com Fox News reporter Laura Ingle’s story about a New Jersey power company’s installation of 200000 solar panels on utility polls heavily concentrated on the views of critics, even talking to local critics while ignoring twice as many local residents gathered who supported solar panels, to falsely frame the issue as the people vs the power company and state mandates, as I show in this video. The clips I show of Laura Ingle, the residents of Dumont, NJ, and Paul Rosengren of Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) come from a longer segment of Fox News’ June 8, 2011, broadcast of “Happening Now” which is available online at bit.ly The image I use of my previous video titled “Fox News Hates Trains?” comes from the YouTube video player page at www.youtube.com The image I use of the PSE&G’s FAQs on solar panels comes from bit.ly
