The Great Plains in the US because its a steppe so you still have a lot of wind plus no obstruction to break it insuring that you maximize the potential. This is better than say a mountain where there is lot of wind breakers interrupting the flow. Also the coasts are very good. Just generally windy places.
Most of the wind generators I have seen have been out west. Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Idaho to name a few. The decision of whether or not to install a wind field is based on number of days a year that meets a certain wind speed. I heard the criteria one time, but I do not remember what it was.
Nuclear power is the way to go. It has a much lower cost per unit associated with it. Also you don’t have to look at those stupid windmills around every corner!
I think a great place for wind turbines is in the ocean. Not like actually putting the turbine in the ocean but placing it above the ocean. There are a lot of wind there and there is nothing to stop the wind. They have already started to do that.
