The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. @kiro28th well hold up a regular car only uses 15 percent to actually move forward after you figure everything else in.
google: energy losses in a vehicle

  2. Hydrogen is bollocks
Hydrogen is pushed by car manufacturers to try and survive the end of the oil age… they can’t
The future is: [1] push-bikes [2] electric-rail [3] using telecoms & other lifestyle changes e.g. relocalization to completely eliminate car use & reduce need for transport.
Only NUCLEAR POWER can replace Hydrocarbons as an energy source.. in terms of pollution this is possibly “out of the frying pan, into the fire”

  3. @CST1992 but the problem is solar cells right now is not that efficient..only about 20% of its efficiency is transformed into usable energy, the other 80% is heat from the solar panels from direct contact with the solar light.

  4. @nayokow you obviously dont understand the point. its not about speed or looks its about teaching people about alternative energy and having a car that runs on nothing but renewable energy.

  5. this is the most retarded car, doesn’t even look fast…. why buy this when you can get RC car with rechargeable battery???

  6. The hydrogen is not stored in a gaseous state, it is compressed into a liquid state, which does not combust. When the hydrogen is injected into the engine, it is uncompressed and turn back into a gas. The danger of hydrogen cars blowing up is simply a misconception.

  7. “PygmyLepper0850” you said: “If this were to be used in full sized cars we would still need fossil fuels. Where is the electrical energy supposed to come from?”

How about solar or wind power? How about water waves? Geothermal power? All are renewble and non-polluting.

  8. So you would rather use mass amounts of electricity to make a combustible gas of witch you would store in your car just waiting to go off. Yet we have some of the best advancements in electric cars out in the last few years that can kick any ICE cars on the track? Do some research fonduman. Hydrogen will produce at least 75% more pollution compared to electric cars using the same power source.

  9. so are you saying that its easier to store water than electricity? Than what’s the point of batteries?

  10. the idea is that you can store it, electricity which can be produced cleanly can produce a clean fuel, whereas electric powered cars suck.

  11. If this were to be used in full sized cars we would still need fossil fuels. Where is the electrical energy supposed to come from?

Simply the only way to make this viable is to use the electrical power from the mains supply, solar panels are too inefficiently. That means that we will still burn fossil fuels for that energy. Unless we change our form of electrical power generation, but that’s a completely different story.

  12. Ive heard somewhere that this is a simple example of how Hydrogen can be used to power tomorrows cars.

Its not difficult to see that by converting H2O into H and O2 you put energy into either molecule, then by using that hydrogen you are only getting back the energy you gave it in the first place.

By converting from electrical energy to chemical energy back to electrical energy you are loosing energy at each step. Use the form of energy that you start with and conserve energy.

  13. yeaa its being energy conserving, but what about people who cant afford it or rednecks who are proud about their gas consuming trucks? PS im talking about driveable cars :)
