  1. Itis Val-DEEZ, rhymes with “Tiger Woods is a sleaze”. It is not pronounced like a Spanish Valdez, which is like Pez (r).

  2. well in spanish it would be a surname and pronounced Vahll-deh-zzz. How ever the Alaskan town for which the Exxon Valdez is named (and the terminus of the Alaska pipeline) is pronounced Vall-deeze.
    A side note here mispronouncing anything here in Alaska, especially a town you can wind up some place else than where you are wanting to go.

I always thought it was with a soft e, but Shepard Smith has been saying it with a hard e this evening.
