1. Neocon, democrats do not oppose any nuclear power and you are very well aware of that fact.

2. France still has not solved the problem of nuclear waste. They’re hoping that there will be a solution some time in the future.

3. the former poster has no idea what she is talking about. Everytime I see proposals for a Nuclear power plant out come the Liberals with their comments about “The China syndrome” and that reactor in Russia. We could build plenty of safe power plants, more than enough to handle our power needs. the only people that object are libs and their tree hugger running dogs.

4. It is the Democrats job to make sure that we have one hand tied behind our backs.

5. I don’t believe that Dems. oppose nuclear power, however there is a problem with what to do with the waste, a lot of states want nothing to do with it being dumped, or buried in there borders.

6. Democrats are Hypocrites. They love to use OUR energy and keep US from building more plants or drilling for more oil.

   I really wish they would live by their words instead of being lying scum.

7. 1) Show me where Democrats have long since opposed building new nuclear plants and I’ll show you some historical footage of the fallout from the Three Mile Island accident.

   2) France’s nuclear mandate is based on the premise that “clean” energy can come from nuclear power which is based on a much smaller reactor design which is environmentally-friendly and they have found ways to recycle spent uranium within their reactors without having to dump it. (Like we do.)

   3) Nuclear power OVERALL isn’t technically a clean source of energy. It’s pure *radiation* which emits high levels of gamma and bertold rays.

   Solar power on the other hand is a broad-spectrum energy resource which utilizes LIGHT to charge photovoltaic cells that seek out the light in order to generate power.

   Wind power just uses wind. Water power uses water and the ocean tides to generate power.

8. Technically, I’m not a Democrat. I’m undeclared. The problems I have with nuclear power are: 1. No one has yet found a safe way to dispose of the resulting radioactive waste. 2. No matter how well the reactors are built there will always be a chance of a meltdown. 1 in a billion would be more than I’d want to risk. 3. Any nation that uses nuclear energy is half a step away from a nuclear weapons program. No nukes, no nuclear power is the safest way for the entire planet to go. As far as clean, green alternative energy, solar, wind, hydroelectric, micro-hydro, electromagnetic, geothermal…etc. should more than cover the worlds demand. If only the oil corporations would put some of their massive wealth toward research, development and implementation…but there I go. Dreaming again.

    Sunlight and wind are clean sources, and running water.

13. There are so many other resources out there we should not focus on the ones that could be potentially harmful.
