  1. it is cathode as reduction occure on cathode and it usually results in deposition of ions after reduction on it.

  2. Regardless of whether the cell is voltaic or electrolytic, oxidation will always occur at the anode and reduction at the cathode. The cathode will gain mass, and the anode will lose mass.

In an Electrolytic cell, which electrode gains mass and which looses mass?

My question should suffice an appropriate answer so, no need to write more here.
