Debate is FOR things we can control, consider the debate on whether we let a Force 5 Hurricane on shore without proper papers.
Many times politicians will try to deflect bad news that they don’t want the public to hear about with smaller more frivolous issues hoping small interest groups will dominate the stories and divert the attention of the populace from the really important ones. Unfortunately the media usually backs them up.
