The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

Lower Sesan II Hydroelectric Dam

Construction of the dam will take 5 years to be completed. The Vietnamese-Cambodian joint venture will be able to exploit for 30 years the energy resources produced by the plant, which will then be transferred to the state after the license expires. The dam will occupy 37000 hectares of land, impacting fisheries and related activities. People in 4 communes, most of whom are indigenous people who depend on fishing and farming to support their daily living, will have to abandon the area and their long-standing way of life. What strategies do the government and the companies have to compensate the people who will be affected by this USD 800 million project?
