I just recently came across this on wikipedia when looking at ion drives and I’m confused. From what I read this thruster takes the best from both worlds. It’s fairly efficient like most other ion drives but it also creates thrust levels comparable to chemical rockets. I haven’t looked to deep into it but from what I can tell these are getting very minimal research. What the hell!? This looks like what we need to be diving into for space propulsion. Am I missing something that would not make this the perfect replacement for chemical and ion thrusters in space?
