After almost three months, an oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico has temporarily been stopped. However BP, the oil company responsible for the accident, says it’s too early to label the situation a success. It’s now checking if a new cap, installed earlier this week, can hold oil without it blowing another leak. The environmental disaster happened in April after the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded, and has so far spilt nearly 700 million litres of oil into the sea.
