This is on of our new 55.7″ Paraboloids that produces almost 2K of solar power. They are beasts when it comes to solar heating. I hope to do videos with Steam and Stirling Engines to provide a working model that actually can be used to produce some power. These boil 12 oz of water in under a minute. what you should do is line them up like in the vid but center them all at a metal plate does it melt?

@jpmorgan187 its only good if you live in a place thats universaly sunny, like desert areas of california. if your living in washington state for example your pretty much fucked :). it still has value as some places like california have large populations and desert areas that have sun year round, like palm springs.

How much is a dish…and how big can you make them? One way to take advantage of solar power is to align all of the sunlight to a water tower where the water evaporates than liquefies and turns a turbine thus generating electricity.
i’ve watched a handful of videos from this guy. i have yet to see any video where is actually putting one of his projects to good use on a continuous basis.
i would very much like to see a video on, say, a water heater that has saved you money throughout the year. until then, this experiments will not be taken seriously

How much to ship one of these to Australia? We get pretty wikked summers over here (hitting 40+ degrees centigrade most days throughout summer) and seeing one if these in action would be awesome… Going to the beach and cooking between 11-3 ….
