Question by EPhantom: What is the potential worth of an effective magnet motor?
I’ve noticed that no-one has made a motor out of permanent magnets, and I’m thinking about trying to make one. But what I want to know is, how much is it really potentially worth?

Most small dc motors use permanent magnets. The advantage is that no power is used for the field coils, improving the efficiency. Here is an example:-

These motors are generally worth a few hundred dollars.
